KIVUD

In my practice of kivud av v'im
My parents never knew me as messiah or king
they just knew me as a real human being
with heart and faith in matters unseen

We all learned from the Fresh Prince
Sometimes parents just don't understand
But everyone has known since the bible's been in print
that to make your days long upon this Land
You must honor them and give them some kind of weight
In fact that's how the Hebrew word kivud translates
but please tell me why Jesus banned anyone who didn't hate
their parents like he did from entering the gates
to the kingdom of heaven and why was the bread unlevened
at the last supper and why were the disciples twelve and not eleven
and why is sunday yom rishon and Saturday the seventh
the round ball within the rubic's cube work week's
six-sided three dimensions
For in six days did God create the Heaven and the earth
and he saw that it was very good and for what it's worth
he rested on the 7th day and then my friends he blessed it
and from then till now you can test it
and see what happens every 7th day
since the beginning of creation
and every seven years, then at fifty, a Jubilee celebration
where all debts are cleared and captives freed
throughout the twelve tribe nations
so rastaman live up with a positive vibration
Iron like a lion in zion in quite a situation
Reuniting the lost tribes in true emancipation
See how nothing could be more radical
than the principle of sabbatical

My Dad's a buddha monk and my mom's a raja yogi
We took a walk when I was young and let me tell you what he told me
When I asked if he believed in God He said son
whatever it is it's one
That sounds like the shm'a so call me son of a gun
And I keep that with me with his pure intentions
We both have taken trips to alternative dimensions
We both love getting high but then there is my mom
who always tells me I should lay off the sauce
but she flies the friendly skies cause she meditates a lot
Now You can call me a mama's boy cause I love to grocery shop
with the woman who gave birth to me and engage in small talk
and I must be the biggest freak of them all
cause I like when we go to JC Pennys clothes shopping at the Mall
And I don't want to kill my Father I'd rather rub his feet
And I don't want to uh my Mother I'd rather uh a freak
So uh oedipus and his stupid little cycle
Cause my parents taught me how to ride my first bicycle
And I'm a certain bicyclist cause my parents raised me well
Teaching me to live and learn and make a heaven out of hell

so this goes out to all you parent haters
you can consider me some kind of investigator
inquiring what makes you different from a foolish player hater
so let me tell you what you must realize sooner or later
and its the truth though its not evident or apparent
that it was you who chose in the first place for them to be your parents
And as for me I think I made a very good choice
even though they got divorced I will still rejoice
Cause they got to be soul mates for awhile
raising me and my sister to be good voodoo chile
Now everybody's got some Drama with their mama like eminem in 8 mile
but things are gonna get easier like when you hear them sing ooh child
while the wild eyed boy from free cloud lets his imagination run wild
Now papa was a rolling stone ... tangled up in blue
So before I sit on any throne let me tell you what I will do
I'm gonna give him a brand new bag and a beautiful house to boot
I'll make him retire from painting houses and I've got plans for my mom too
I will bless that she live forever in holy matrimony
with my step-father rick who I consider a homey
I'll give her so much money she'll lose all parsamony
And I'll buy them a dream house in the land of milk and honey
